Christmas Day!

Our 2nd Christmas together and how Blessed we are...not because of presents under the tree, but because of a Living and Saving Lord.  Happy Birthday Jesus!
May we never forget the true meaning of Christmas.

After the 3 of us had a nice morning at home
we headed down to Gma and Gpa's .
Laney was a little overwhelmed by all the presents.
But after opening up her first gift.. Twin babies...she started to have fun!

She had no problem wearing her new Cardinals hat
as long as she could still take care of her babies.

Too precious!

We even found a bed for them.

Uncle Jessie and Dad scoping out their new tools!

Laney didn't understand that the buggy was for her babies...not for her.

We suprised Joy with a KitchenAid Mixer!
Just the 6 of us!

Now..as you can see we had a nice, slow, quiet Christmas at Jake's side...then comes my side..
Of course I love both families, they are both wonderful for different reasons..
but this is where it gets crazy!!

Everyone gets annoyed at me b/c I try to make Christmas last by having
each kid open one present at a time...something I learned from Jake's side.

The kids do a good job of being patient.

Jett loved the paper and squealed to get more of it.

 Brant loves putting things together.

 Laney needed a snack break.
Great Gma Dessie got her a Jayhawk pillow pet!

 Dad..DAD...  are you paying attention?

What a fun Christmas with all 5 cousins!!

Christmas with the Holtzman's

Every Christmas Eve since we've been married we have spent the evening with the Holtzman/Anderson Family.  Its always a great time of food, fellowship, and fun.
Laney had a ball and she stayed up till 11:45!

Laney sure does enjoy hanging out with Gpa Wade

Great Gpa Richard,  Great Gma Dalene and Great Great Gma Lola

Laney  showing cousin Holly how to drive her car

Laney liked looking at all the presents.

 Great Great Uncle Ray

 Tearing off bows.

Foster found a comfy spot to rest.

I was trying to convince Laney to open up her gifts.

She knew it was hers..but she didn't want to tear the kitty wrapping.

She loved the jacket Great Uncle Chris got her.

Showing Aunt Darla her pretty purple jacket.

And of course you can't go wrong by getting Laney a stuffed animal...she loved the hound dog!

We love Tents!

So the Thursday before christmas (Dec. 22)  I needed to get some Christmas baking done
so in order to occupy Laney I decided to make her a tent in the kitchen.

 It was a success.

I even got under there with her and played house for a while.

Then it was time for lunch and she did not want to let go of her baby.
(She's giving me her mean face that most of you all have seen.)

She kept giving her baby these big ol kisses and when I asked for one
she just smiled and kissed her baby again...little turkey!

I was trying to capture her cute shirt (Miss Josie's handi-down).

It said "I'm on the Nice List... Trust me!"

Taking care of Foster

It was time to give Foster a bath and Laney decided to help.

She was more a a help than we thought, as she filled up the big cup with water
and gave it to Dad to pour over Foster.  She loves filling up cups in the bathtub.

Dad asked if she wanted to give Foster a treat and she said Yes.

She went straight to the treats and gave them to Jake.

Soon we will pass down the responsibiilty of cleaning and feeding Foster completely to her!

Tea Party

Laney and I had a tea party the other day
behind the recliner next to the Christmas tree.

We invited her baby and all of her stuffed animals.

 We served fresh (plastic) cupcakes.

And Laney did a very good job hosting.
