Lickin' the spoon

Laney loves to help me bake.
I decided to bake Laney's birthday cake Friday nite.
After pouring the batter in the cake pan, I caught Laney lickin' the spoon.

I couldn't blame her, and I decided not to stop her.
This is one of my simple joys in life (taste testing) and I thought she should enjoy it too!
Don't worry Mom...the eggs didn't have salmonella.

Thankfully, my sister is a creative mastermind and she came over later on
and was the architect for Laney's birthday cake.  I made the marshmallow fondant
and the cake, but she was the designer.  My mom also helped make it a success.
Here is the final product:

I just love how it turned out.
Thank you Whit and Mamma.  Thanks to Brant too for helping out.

She's got her hand up on her hip

Laney is becoming quite a Diva.
She frequently has her hand on her hip.
She is so sweet but also very onery.

Laney loves her cousins!

Addie spent the night with us last Monday nite.
Laney was so excited to have Addie there on
Tuesday morning when she woke up.

Addie had the idea to paint nails.
Laney only wanted Addie to paint her nails, I could not touch them.
Addie impressed me with her steady hand.

Then Addie wanted to go to the park.

Laney posed for me 2 days in a row!

They both love the Merry-go-round.

Later on in the week on Friday, Brant called to ask if he could spend the night.
How could I refuse?
Then next morning Laney called my name and said, "Mamma, look at this."
What a cheezer!

Sick little girl

Last Monday, Laney came down with what we thought was allergies.
She then got worse each day with a fever and congestion.
After taking her to the doctor on Thursday, she came down with blisters
on her hand. Friday she had a rash and more blisters.
All of this is diagnosed as: Hand, Foot and Mouth!
It was not fun, but she is well now.

She's got the moves and the hair to go with it.

The other morning before work Laney and I turned on the Disney channel
and "All aboard the CHOO-CHOO Train" song was on and she jammed out.

As you know, Laney rarely poses for pictures, so I was tickled pink
when she said "Cheese!" for me in her cute Nike outfit and ponytail.

She wanted her ponytail out and it stayed like this.

"Hello, Yes, Good."

Laney loves to answer to phone and you can bet that the first 3 words
out of her mouth are:  "Hello, Yes, Good."

She is just too much.

Batter Up!

Laney took her glove to Jake's softball game this last Thursday.
Before we left the house, she found her glove and a ball and called
it her "Base-Game".

She showed off for the fans in the stands.
She even had a great stance and was ready to catch.

She's just itchin' to play ball.

Well, I guess we will have to work on not eating the ball.

Today she was ready to play again.

Eyes aren't open, but she's got her hand over the ball in the glove.

She can do tricks too!

4th of July

We had a Brant Family gathering at my Aunt Sharon's house on the 4th.

Along with celebrating our Nation's Independence, we also celebrated Gpa's 91st Birthday.
I just love these two people.
What a great couple!

Big bellies after a big lunch!

I left for vacation with my mom and sisters that night, or rather, early the next
morning at 2am and I couldn't get enough of this little girl.

I am so blessed to be a wife and mother.

Red, White and Blue and Ponytail too!

Laney actually posed for some pictures for me while she sported her American colors!

I know she is going to set a new trend in hairstyles!
