1st time camper

Two years ago, we went in on a pop-up camper with my sisters.
Jake and I finally took it out for the first time on last Sunday
since we didn't have to work on Monday (Memorial Day).

Laney loved the camper.
She didn't like waiting for us to get it up, but once we did, then she was happy.

I know I've seen a picture of me sitting in a similar looking chair
at the lot by the Thayer school and I really think she looks almost identical.
I will find the picture and post it.

We camped out on, hopefully, the land we will build a house on one day.
I love it out there.  So peaceful.  So open.  Nothing like town.

Laney decided she wanted to take some pictures.
This is her first attempts at photography.

The detail of the grass is exquisite!

It was super windy, but we made it through the night safe and sound in the camper.

Lovin' on Gpa Wade

Laney asked G-pa to draw her a tractor
and a tractor he drew.

I think Laney may have this one wrapped around her little finger.

I hope she never outgrows giving us hugs and kisses.

Riley and Caden's 1st B-day

Laney was ready to swim!

She never went fully in...just kinda bobbed along.

Just the girls. No boys allowed.

"Riley, you can come in, but not your Dad."

The water wasn't very warm.

 Caden and Riley

Opening the presents Laney bought them.

"I think I may just take one more dip."

Addie and Brant

Last Friday Addie asked Jake and I if she and Brant could spend the night.
How could we refuse?

Laney was so excited when they got there and ran around like a crazy person.
Then, after her bath she wanted to wrestle.

I think they use us for our Netflix movies, but at any rate, I think
we are the coolest Aunt and Uncle!

Loves Books

Laney has really gotten obsessed with books lately.
This one is the Dinosaur train and her other favorite
is Farmer Brown.

Rockin' Cousins

Laney was reluctant to share her beloved horse but finally gave in.

Why do my sisters' kids always have red eyes?
Laney never does.
Weird....

Great Grandma Dessie

After a Sonic run, we swang by Grandma's house to visit and to mow her lawn.

G-ma Dessie keeps Laney most Monday and Wednesday mornings.
I think she kinda likes it.

Grandma's are so precious.  Words can't express how much they mean to me.

Onery little booger

I had my recipe box sitting out on the table and I was
doing something in the kitchen and I noticed Laney was very quiet
at the table messing with something.
She had fun and it gave me a good excuse to organize my recipes.

Evening at the park

We had a cook-out with my co-workers at Santa Fe park and Laney
just loved playing at the playground.

Even though she doesn't look happy, she was having a good time.
Walking out to the train with Dad.

 Cindy and Skye
 My work buddies!

All the kiddos.

I love nice comfortable weather and hamburgers!

She's already got a green thumb!

Mom put in a pretty big garden this year and due to the shortage of rain,
it needed watered.  Now there is no easy way to water this massive garden.
Dad has not put a hydrant out there, so we have to cart buckets of water and
carefully water each plant individually (no spray hose available).
As inventive as my Dad is, surely he could rig up something better!

Carefully planting squash with Mimi's guidance.

My cousin Kaley and I planted 20 rows of corn that day.
I think we may have enough to share.

Lets Go Out to the Ballgame!

Jake played Men's Spring Softball and Laney and I
made it out to a few games to cheer him on!

She found her a great seat and the Wheeler girls joined her!

"I hope I can play as good as Dad one day."
