A great perk to my job is they pay for all my continuing education courses and
all the travel that goes along with that. Conveinlently, I needed to take a course that
just happened to be located in a little place called Palm Beach! :)
I was worried that Laney wouldn't do well on the plane ride, but she did
awesome. Didn't cry, didn't whine, just sat and looked out the window, napped,
people-watched, and cuddled.
She spotted a "tractor" out the window and was so excited!
We didn't get into Florida until after midnight and didn't get to bed til after 2am.
But we still got up early Friday morning to head out to the beach because I only
had one day to do whatever I wanted before the class started.
Jake and Laney were lookin' good in their beach attire.
First view of the ocean.
I turned my head and Laney had spelled her name in the sand!
Laney wasn't sure about the ocean and was very timid to get into the water.
We collected shells.
Relaxed.
Tried to make a sand castle.
Sunbathed.
After lunch we headed to the Palm Beach Zoo.
Have you ever seen an Anteater in person?
Laney got a couple souveniers.
Ate at an expensive seafood restaurant and realized I still don't like lobster.
The only perk was we got a free boat ride out on the ocean inlet.
Laney got sick with a high fever Saturday night but got better by Sunday night
so Jake was ready for a break from the hotel room,
so we headed out to find Guanabananas and ate outside by the water.
I made Laney glasses from wicky sticks.
I had to see the beach one more time before we left so on our last night
we went to the beach even though it looked like it could storm.
It rained and was cloudy everyday but Friday.
We walked for about an hour up and down the beach.
No one else was there but a few native people.
We watched these windsurfers for a long time. They were so fun to watch.
My two favorite people.
Are they precious or what?
Laney's dress got soiled after the beach walk and the only thing we
had to put on her was my shirt. She can pull off any outfit.
It was a nice little getaway, but it is always good to come home.
she looks like she's dancing in this last one. She totally pulls off that shirt. (I can't believe you said "Soiled" instead of dirty. Aren't you proper?*wink*)
