In the last few days...

Addie and Macie came by to hang out with us for awhile on Tuesday night.

Addie read Laney my favorite book as a child and she did such a great job.
She even got into it and Laney loved it!

It is so wonderful to have great cousins.  Now we just need the Benson's to live closer.

This morning Laney wanted to sit by me on the couch and cuddle.
I didn't mind it too much.

We watched her first episode of Dinosaur Train and she really liked it for about 5 minutes.
We played hide and seek and had a good morning.  Then we went to G&W and came back home and it was nice out so I thought we would play in the yard for awhile.  Laney said "Ducks" and I said, "Do you want to go see the Ducks at the Park?" and she adamently said yes and started walking back to the car.  I grabbed some bread and we went to Santa Fe Park.  The Geese were everywhere.  We started throwing out bread and I had to pick Laney up because they were coming at us and getting too close for comfort.  We even climbed up the ladder to the slide to make sure they wouldn't nip at us.

We walked away and they followed us.  The big male goose was quite intimidating.

Laney kept an eye out for how close they were getting to us.

But it didn't stop her from playing in the rocks.

"Why do we have to go home Mom?"

Laney puts on a show at lunch when Dad comes home.

They have this thing where they make crazy faces at eachother.  And it is adorable.

Oh the Joys of being a Mother.

Does she have to be such a big girl already?

Wearing my ear warmer and showing off her daddy's look with the precious dimples and the not small ear.

Dressed and ready to go to church with accessories and all!

Figuring out how to put on her jammies.

 Laney calls them her "jams"

This has been a fun new game!

We tell her to hold on and she says, "neck!"

Sitting at the desk, getting ready to pay some bills.

 Typing out her resume.

 Wearing her mamma's shoes.

How did she get them on by herself?

 Still LOVEs the boxes!

Lately she has been obsessed with her washcloths.  I think she had nearly all of them out
last week.  Either nawing on them or wiping down the furniture.

 She was yelling I think.

I went to the bathroom and came back out to find her in another pair of my shoes.

She puts on her hat all by herself.

Does she not look like an Eewok?
(I am sure Whitney will let me know that I spelled that wrong.)

 Precious armpits!

Sporting her Sunday attire (Below).  I asked if she wanted to wear a headband to church and
she said, "Yes." Then she came back to my room with 3 different options.
It didn't stay on very long, but she is beginning to let me put pretties in her hair.
Jake pouts in the evening when Laney won't let him hold her.  But on this night he laid his head in her lap and she stroked his hair and wouldn't let him sit back up.  So sweet.

Wearing her big girl jammies in her princess tent.

Happy 30th Birthday Dad!

Thursday was Jake's 30th B-day and he got a special treat from Laney when he came home for lunch.

She sat with him practically his whole lunch break.
She decided to feed him some lasagna.

And then later on that night we celebrated with a yummy pineapple upside-down cake!

This was the sweetest moment of the evening

Laney rarely settles down to just lay on the couch with us.
I think she knew it would make her Daddy happy for his birthday.

In the last week....

Looks like Laney will be sharing in her Dad's love of popcorn.
She thought she was big stuff to have her own bowl.

 She also enjoys oranges.

She of course had to hold the plate herself.

Monday night I went to Bible study and Jake took some great pics of Laney with her Minnies!

Minnie on the left is mine from childhood and Minnie on the right is her new one.
Guess she is going to share my love of Minnie!

She was actually having a good time and dancing but you couldn't tell it by her expression.

She had to try on my new shoes.

She decided Minnie needed a diaper change.  All on her own.

 Minnie was dirty everywhere.

Its amazing how fast they catch on to things.

Macie came by to play and they decided to be my maids.  I was okay with it.

We were playing in her room and she found her backpack from Aunt Whit
and I couldn't resist grabbing the camera for this adorable profile.
